Bangladesh seeks UAE investment in tourism

Civil aviation and tourism minister M Faruk Khan on Tuesday sought investment from the United Arab Emirates in development of Bangladesh’s tourism infrastructures as well as building hotels and resorts.

‘There are opportunities for the UAE to invest in development of tourism infrastructures and building hotels and resorts,’ he said while UAE ambassador Abdullah Ali Al Hamoudi to Bangladesh called on him at the Secretariat.

The minister said that if the UAE would like to invest in the country’s tourism sector Dhaka was ready to provide all kinds of assistance in this regard.

In reply, the envoy said that his country was keen to provide assistance to Bangladesh in the tourism industry along with increasing the existing cooperation in aviation sector between the UAE and Bangladesh.

The ambassador said that the aviation and tourism industries would further strengthen the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

The civil aviation and tourism minister said that the Bangladesh government had been working sincerely in tourism development by utilising its untapped natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.

Faruk also said that the government had taken various measures to attract foreign tourists.

The minister hoped that the new area of tourism cooperation along with aviation partnership will take the Bangladesh-UAE ties to greater heights.
