Six people were killed in a collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi district on Saturday.

Four of the deceased have been identified.

They are Shahin, 35, the driver of the auto-rickshaw from Satpara village; Abu Bakor Siddique, 40, a resident of Boilab village in Shibpur upazila; Marufa Akhter, 23, from Monohardi upazila; and Mostofa Mia, 48, from Raipura upazila in the district.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibpur Model Thana, Afzal Hossain, stated that the accident occurred around 1:00pm at Pacharbarai on the Etakhola-Mothkhola Road.

Upon being informed, police and firefighters rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies. All six individuals in the auto-rickshaw died at the scene, he added.

The bodies have been sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy, the OC confirmed.
