Rizwan Rahman, a sponsor director, has been appointed vice-chairman of Eastland Insurance PLC following the company’s 225th Board Meeting on Wednesday.

Rizwan, who served as President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in 2021 and 2022, is also the Managing Director of ETBL Holdings Ltd, a diversified company with interests spanning infrastructure, financial services, warehousing, and print media.

Over the past decade, he has held key roles across multiple industry boards, including the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI), Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI), Bangladesh Chamber of Industries, the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bangladesh-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He joined his family business in 2006 after completing his higher education in the United Kingdom.
