Bangladesh’s jewelers on Sunday hiked the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 630 per bhari (11.664 grams), setting the new rate for the precious metal at Tk 1,19,423 per bhari with immediate effect.
This increase comes just after a reduction of Tk 840 per bhari the previous day.
According to a press release from BAJUS issued on Sunday, the standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of BAJUS made the decision.
This adjustment marked the fifth change in gold prices by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association this month.
Prices were raised four times on April 6, April 8, April 18, and April 21, with a decrease recorded on April 20.
The gold price reached new highs during the initial three increments.
The price of 21-carat gold rose to Tk 1,14,004 per bhari from Tk 1,13,398 per bhari, while the price of 18-carat gold increased to Tk 97,710 per bhari from Tk 97,196 per bhari, as stated in the press release.
