Bangladesh’s jewelers on Monday announced a rise in the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 1,507 per bhari (11.664 grams), establishing the new rate of this precious metal at Tk 1,17,331 per bhari in the market, effective immediately.
This adjustment follows the April 6 decision by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) to increase the price of gold by Tk 1,751 per bhari, setting it at Tk 1,15,824 per bhari for 22-carat gold, effective Sunday.
The decision was reached by the Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of BAJUS, as detailed in a press release issued on Monday.
The price of 21-carat gold has consequently risen to Tk 1,12,208 per bhari from Tk 1,10,575 per bhari, while 18-carat gold is now priced at Tk 96,228 per bhari, up from Tk 94,770 per bhari, according to the press release.
