Faruque Hassan, managing director of Giant Group, has been appointed as the chairman of the Board of Trustees at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT).
He is also a former president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
A founding member of BUFT Board of Trustees, Faruque was unanimously elected to the position during the university’s 54th board meeting, held on October 21, according to a press release.
BUFT stated that his appointment marks a significant milestone in strengthening the university’s partnerships with academia, research and the garment industry.
