The 17th edition of the Bangladesh Denim Expo is set to take place on November 4-5 at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka.
This two-day event would feature panel discussions, trend seminars, a Trend Zone, and exhibitions, according to a press release issued by Bangladesh Apparel Exchange, the organiser of the event.
The theme for the 17th edition of the expo is ‘The Blue New World,’ representing a fresh start that embodies eco-friendly practices, responsible fashion, innovation and reliable sourcing destinations, it said.
The release said that the theme highlighted the significance of trustworthy sourcing destinations such as Bangladesh, where sustainability, quality, and ethics came together to shape a brighter, more sustainable future for the global apparel industry.
More than 44 exhibitors from seven countries, including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, China, Turkey, Spain, and Italy, are set to attend the event.
The participant categories include fabric mills, denim and non-denim manufacturers, garment manufacturers, washing laundries, accessories and trims, chemicals, machinery or technology providers, and logistics companies.
The upcoming two-day event would feature four panel discussions led by global experts focusing on critical issues in Bangladesh’s readymade garments industry.
Participants would share insights on securing the industry and confronting its challenges with resilience.
The discussions would also explore necessary steps for Bangladesh to maintain its leadership in the global apparel market by 2030.
Additionally, the panels will address the implications of the GSP+ status and the transition from Least Developed Country (LDC) status, alongside opportunities for buyers to tap into Bangladesh’s growth potential in the RMG sector.
This collaborative exchange aims to generate actionable strategies for the future of the industry.
Mostafiz Uddin, founder and CEO of Bangladesh Denim Expo, said that the garment industry in Bangladesh has been playing a crucial role in the nation’s economy, serving as a significant contributor to foreign earnings.
‘I think it is high time that we come together to formulate a robust strategy that not only addresses these challenges but also capitalises on the available opportunities. Together, we can ensure the industry’s sustainable growth,’ he said.
