Three-day BCGTX 2025 kicks off in Dhaka

The Bangladesh-China Green Textile Expo (BCGTX 2025) kicked off in Dhaka on October 23, spotlighting cutting-edge sustainable technologies and green innovations aimed at transforming the textile industry.

The three-day exhibition, held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Kuril, brings together 39 Chinese and Bangladeshi enterprises, including textile and garment manufacturers, investors, technologists, and industry experts.

Jointly organised by Savor International, the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB), the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), and Shanghai Climate Week, the event underscores growing cooperation between the two nations in promoting environmentally responsible industrial development.

Inaugurating the event, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen stressed the need for international collaboration to address global sustainability challenges.

He said that the transfer of Chinese eco-friendly, modern, and cost-effective technologies would strengthen Bangladesh’s industrial competitiveness.

‘Today’s world is undergoing profound changes. No country can develop without a fair, stable, and open international environment,’ Yao said.

The opening ceremony was also attended by BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mijanur Rahman, BTMC Chairman Brigadier General S M Zahid Hassan, Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Khorshed Alam, CEAB President Han Kun, Shanghai Climate Week Executive Secretary-General Guan Jie, Professor Fu Jiajia from Jiangnan University’s College of Textile Science and Engineering, and Savor International Managing Director Md Faizul Alam.

Running until October 25, the expo features eco-friendly and recyclable textile technologies, along with B2B meetings, seminars, and panel discussions.

Leading entrepreneurs from both countries are taking part in the event, which remains open to visitors from 10:00am to 7:00pm daily.

The exhibition aims to foster sustainable industrial practices while deepening Bangladesh-China cooperation in green manufacturing and climate innovation.
